So I haven't submitted anything for a while, and this is partially because I have no time and partially because I've been becoming really unsatisfied with my work. Hence taking a step back and trying to change my style and do sensible things like work from a reference (so much easier!). As I mentioned I have no time, so I'm just submitting the lineart, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Took a stupid amount of time though. I highly doubt I'll have time to finish it before I go on holiday, but you never know. Insipired by disney's the litte mermaid, although via *loish. Incidentally, I have issues with her eyes. Any idea what's up with them? They just seem a bit stare-ie.

she's used too much mascara. LOL. No, i just think that they're just fine. they give her this intense stare... like she's looking through you. I know a few people who do that. okay, one. and she frightens me... although, i haven't seen her since i moved to texas. Excellent line quality deary. Her hair is nicely detailes, and i like her hand. Hands are insanely difficult to draw.

I know! The madness of hands and feet! Sigh. I'm glad you say that. It actually looks a lot less scary when there's some colour in it (I think. I've only coloured one eye though!). So don't know when I'm going to have time to work on this. I'm crap.

you're not crap. you're just busy. I have many problems with hands and feet as well, so no worries. And only one eye colored, huh? that might be a bit creepy. You see, her eyes stand out because if the very dark lines around them. If you were to re-ink this picture, but use more delicate linework around her eyes, she wouldn't have such an intense stare.

true, but I actually think it relates to her pupil size. Trust me, it annoyed me and I played around with it for ages. I just couldn't get it to be better. Annoying. And I feel that I can be both crap and busy similtaneously.

and i, for one, would disagree with your generalized assumption. so there. pupils are a little big, but i see no problem with that. it just makes her look crazy. and crazy is good.

that you're crap and busy. The busy part is not generalized, but the crap part is. thus, i shall not accept it. so there. i kinda like crazy though. it adds a certain little something. what's that gleam in your eyes, honey? is that love or are you waiting for the exact moment to stab me? LOL

Definately the stabbing. Love is only expressed in terms of "I love my poison tipped death stars". And I have no issue with being crap on occasion - I am, so I don't see why you should. :P
